Mr M L Padwick

Mr Padwick is a senior gynaecologist within the West Hertfordshire NHS Trust, having spent eight years as Divisional Director of Women’s Services. He is the gynaecological oncology surgeon for the Trust and is one of three gynaecological cancer surgeons for the Hertfordshire and South Bedfordshire Gynaecological Cancer Centre. He is a specialist in laparoscopic, minimal access surgery, having introduced laparoscopic laser surgery for endometriosis to the West Hertfordshire area. He is a recognised preceptor for the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in the fields of both laparoscopy and hysteroscopy, and is an associate professor to St. George’s University in Grenada.

He qualified in 1980 from Kings College Medical School. He continued his training, including three years of research, at Kings College before completing his training in the South West of England. He was appointed as a consultant in 1995 at Watford General Hospital.

He is now involved predominantly with radical pelvic surgery, both open and laparoscopic, which includes cancer surgery, surgery for endometriosis and prolapse repair. He trains a specialist registrar on a recognised MAS training programme.

Mr Padwick is a keen sportsman who completes in triathlon and is a Martial Arts black belt.
