Rhian Gisby

I am currently undertaking specialty training in Obstetrics & Gynaecology in South London which I started in 2018. Prior to that, I completed my undergraduate and initial training in the North East of England as well as spending time working abroad in Malawi, Australia and Greece.

Through my career so far I have seen the impact ectopic pregnancy can have on patients. Both the clinical challenges of diagnosing and treating the condition safely & effectively, as well as the significant psychological impact this can have on the patient and their family. The most enjoyable aspects of my job include developing the surgical techniques to manage conditions such as ectopic pregnancy and communicating with patients and their partners to support them through what can be a very emotionally challenging time.

In my spare time I enjoy cooking, running and reading.
