Every month we will identify the most commonly asked questions about ectopic pregnancy and answer them. If you have any further questions which you cannot find answers to on the website, please can you contact us.
How can I help raise money for the Ectopic Pregnancy Foundation?
The Ectopic Pregnancy Foundation provides support and advice to those whose lives have been affected by Ectopic Pregnancy (a major cause of maternal death in early pregnancy in the United Kingdom). We receive no central funding and rely on charitable donations from the public to provide our services which include a 24-hour-a-day UK-based helpline manned by healthcare professionals (charged at local rates), frequently asked questions in 32 languages and a monthly blog.
A way to help raise funds for the Ectopic Pregnancy Foundation would be to arrange activities such as sponsored walks, raffles or coffee mornings. All the funds are spent on direct patient support.
How much money does the foundation need to raise per year to keep helping women and operate its emergency helpline?
The Ectopic Pregnancy Foundation requires funding to continue to provide the important services that we provide. It’s not possible to put a figure on the minimum funds. We hope to raise funds to provide to councillors to support those affected by an ectopic pregnancy and to share knowledge and understanding of this condition with all those who have been affected by this condition.
When is Ectopic Pregnancy Awareness Day?
The Ectopic Pregnancy Awareness Day is held on the 1st of August and is used to think about Ectopic Pregnancy and those women and families who have been affected.
What can I do to get involved in raising awareness for ectopic pregnancy?
Ectopic Pregnancy is an increasingly common condition. In the United Kingdom, Ectopic Pregnancies are thought to account for up to 1 in 80 pregnancies and is a major cause of maternal death in early pregnancy. It is vitally important to consider the diagnosis of the condition as a delay in it can lead to serious consequences.
To get involved in raising awareness, we need to increase funding to promote the services that the foundation provides which include what to do if you think that you may have an ectopic pregnancy and where it get advice. Any charitable fundraising activities would be appreciated and it would be helpful to receive blog questions and comments on the Ectopic Pregnancy Foundation website in terms of content and ease of navigation.
I am a survivor of ectopic pregnancy, how can I help the foundation?
We are always very appreciative of help and support from anyone who has experienced this traumatic event. We are always in need of funding and maybe you could undertake activities to help raise funds. All funds are spent on patient care and support.
Also, we would welcome a detailed account of your experience for inclusion on the website as our visitors find this to be of great help and support.
